I'm not sure what all the bad press is about at this place. This is the third time I've been here in the past year and I've been pleased. I suggest to the few that have given horrendous reviews to give it a second chance. The fries here.....Not the best ever, but REALLY good. The beers.... Exceptionally good! Getting craft beers like Bells, Founders, Flying Dog, Floyds.... in KY is way more than I could ask for! I had a burger (questioned the addition of dijon mustard but got it anyway) and it was delicious. I'm not looking for amazing when I walk in the door here. I'm looking for a relaxing place I can have some good food, good beer and good conversation with the staff....and i always get all 3. On a strip full of chains and generic stand alone restaurants, Double Dogs is worth the attention. For you one star reviewers...give it another shot and enjoy yourself!

After hearing the hype about this place it was a bit disappointing. I thought their wings just were not crispy and the breakfast dog was less than appetizing. The service was slow and the girl just did not seem like she wanted to be at work. This not a place that I would come back to any time soon.

Better than your average bar food and great service. Stopped in for a simple dinner, sat out on the front dining area. Friendly prompt and helpful waitress (Jessica S.) took care of all our needs. Had the Greek salad and a yummy country fried pork tenderloin sandwich. Would definitely revisit here for a meal or beer or a game on one of the many TVs. Also, as a storm was approaching soon, the manager informed all the patrons dining outside of its imminent arrival. A great find in Bowling Green while visiting the local tourist attractions.

What a fun place. The food was good, there was a good beer selection, the decor was funky fun and the prices were very reasonable. I recommend the Betty Burger and the fries.

I went to this place for dinner while on a business trip. The 'dog' theme was amusing and appropriate. We ordered nachos and they really tasted like dog food! They lacked the chili that was advertised and the chips were extremely salty. We also got their hottest wings. Although the sauce had a good flavor, the wings were not very hot. The wings were very mushy and not crispy and tasted freezer burned. The beer was ok is the best thing that I can say about this place. I would never return.

I would give this place a four if it weren't so loud and crowded and the food were healthier. They need to open a second location, in my opinion. But the food's good (great burgers, fries, chicken pot pie, bacon and egg sandwich) and the service is great even when the place is stuffed to the brim with a wait. They're very accommodating to fans: they will make sure that the game you want is playing on a tv where you can see it. Unfortunately, DirectTV doesn't always cooperate ... but that's not DD's fault. The place isn't just a sports bar. It's family friendly: clean, smoke-free, lots of fun. BGKY recently passed a non-smoking ban, so that's no longer a problem. The food isn't expensive, either, and particularly tasty for the price.

Get the buffalo Mac and cheese!! Great food and atmosphere.

Not the best food I have had. We have eaten there twice and both times felt like the food was missing things. An example is that the burger comes with nothing, chips, fries or onion rings are and extra charge and the cost for the burger is about $6 by itself. It seems like a decent place but nothing exceptional. Serves beer.

Worst service ever! Hostess was rude. Waited 20 min and had to ask for a waitress. Waitress then never came back. Tables and floor were filthy. Left without eating, waitress said "okay whatever".

So through means I will not discuss here, the City of Bowling Green is now telling private businesses how to run their business and have made this entire establishment along with every other business in Bowling Green (not just restaurants and bars) nonsmoking. Well Double Dogs has once again set the bar for accommodating their customers, not just the anti and nonsmokers. There is now an incredible "outdoor room" to keep the smokers dry, warm, and hydrated while they enjoy a bite or watch the game. You have to see this room to really appreciate it, just look out for the nonsmokers trying to take it over as their own. We have definitely come a long way from the smoke filled glass cages at airports! Way to go DD's!!

Great sports bar. Lots of TV's on different games. Great wings - went grilled naked with sauce on the side. Cold beer. What else do you need??!! Food - 4 Service - 5 Atmosphere - 4 Price/Value - 4 Vibe - 4

Soundbox saved the game. Food was good and the place was clean. We had the Thai pasta salad and chicken pot pie and a little salt brought each to life. Hostess accommodated our weird share everything approach to dining.

We stopped in at Double Dogs for lunch on our way through Bowling Green and I'm so glad we did. We started off with Queso & Pico & Chips as an app and it was delicious. It was the perfect size to be shared between four people. I could not resist ordering a root beer float and it was perfection in a mug. While I enjoyed the BBQ bacon cheeseburger, the hand cut fries were the star of the show. I will definitely return on my next trip to Bowling Green.

We went here for St. Patrick's Day while I was visiting a friend in Bowling Green, and we had a blast. The place itself has a pretty fun dog theme. They have a dog house on the side of the building with a motion detector in it that sets off a recording of dogs barking that scared the bejesus out of me when we walked past. The interior is nice, big, and clean for a sports bar and was not all that smokey when we went. They even have a no smoking section, which I have found to be a rare thing with most sports bars and is something I highly appreciated. The food we ordered was much better that what I typically think of as sports bar food. We ordered "pickled paw prints" which are their fried pickle chips served with a smoked tomato horseradish. For a horseradish sauce I thought it was rather bland, but it was nonetheless delicious and tasted amazing on the pickle chips. For a "main course" I ordered the Bo's Dog Bowl Nachos and was pleasantly surprised when they were served to me in an actual dog bowl. The portion was huge and even with my friend helping I only ate about half of them, which is a shame since they were really high quality nachos. As for the drink selection, we had Blue Moon for the first round (dyed green, of course), and Guinness for the second round. Be forewarned that they serve their beers from the tap in 22 oz servings unless you specifically ask for a pint, which was another pleasant surprise (it was St. Patty's Day, after all). For our last round I tried to order an Irish Car Bomb and was a little bemused when our otherwise amazing server had no idea what that was. I explained it to her, but when she brought the drink out it was pretty much a full pint of Guinness with the Bailey's already mixed in and what was almost a full rocks glass of Jameson on the side. It still tasted alright, but at the end of the day it was more like an Irish Bus Bomb than an Irish Car Bomb. Double Dogs also has dart boards and sometimes offers shuffle board and corn hole as well. They have about ten big screen TV's inside and they even had a TV in the woman's restroom, positioned so you can see it from the stalls, just so you won't miss any of the action.

The food is decent. I usually order the chili dog. I ate the wings this time as well and they were very good.

My husband and his friends practically live at DD's. Great sports bar, good food (I like the nachos, pizza, and grilled cheese the best), friendly staff, cornhole tournaments, and the only negative I can think of is that the one side is smoking, make it all non-smoking and I would give it 5 stars.

Do not order the buffalo wings! I promise you'll be glad you didn't. I read a review saying they were great, but they were horrible.

My husband and I were traveling to Mammoth Cave and stayed in Bowling Green. It's was a late Sunday night and we ended up at Double Dogs. Our service was horrible. We didn't get the appetizer we ordered. When they brought our food and we told them we hadn't received our appetizer, the waitress did not apologize or even offer to bring out our food! (I got the blt pizza, which was good and my husband had wings and a hot dog w chili, which he said was ok.) Then Mya (we share the same name :) came out to save the day. She was an amazing server and completely made up for the other 2 servers we had. (Mind you, she was taking care of half of the restaurant.) Management, I sure hope Mya is acknowledged for what she does for your establishment. Our food was taken care of, and we left after receiving our appetizer, buffalo mac and cheese with chicken fingers and croutons. Delish!!!! I'm going to try to copy the next game day! Make sure you ask to sit in Mya's section and get that appetizer! :)

Stopped in with the Hot Rods play by play man as part of a promotion for lunch on a Friday. Ordered the dog sampler and a couple of meals. ATMOSPHERE: as far as a sports fan trying to catch a game and take in some fare, this spot is huge. Multiple tvs around the place, garage door that can open to give a more airy feel and some outdoor style dining. This would be considered a great sports bar. The wait staff was friendly and courteous and everyone seems to pull their weight. FOOD: The food was good overall. The appetizer was good- had chicken fingers, bread sticks with cheese, onion rings, etc. It was very good. We ordered burgers and a couple Mac n cheese with buffalo in it- this is a VERY rich dish. A tip would be if two people want it, ordered one and share it. It was rich and almost overpowering. I wouldn't order it as a stand alone meal. HIGHLY RECOMMENEDED! WOULD COME BACK!

Decent food, liked my hot dog! Not a huge fan of the pizza. Overall, I would definitely comeback, especially to watch a game!

Double Dog's serves my favorite chicken fingers. Basically the only place in town who serves them GRILLED. Great burgers and the buffalo Mac n cheese is delicious. Mya is a wonderful server and she is always wearing a smile! The only thing I'd like to see is more frequently rotating craft beer on draft. Love this eatery and we are here almost weekly.

For starters, stupid busy.. Super stupid busy. They always are and I don't know why, it's definitely not the food. Hostess sat us, waited 8 min and then the hostess had to finally get our drinks. Waitress finally came 7 min later, which isn't too bad for a super busy place. Took our food order and then we never saw that waitress again. One of the dishes we ordered didn't come with ranch like we ordered, but no biggie. Another waitress came up (3 different servers now) and asked us if we needed anything (we had been empty for a pretty good while) she brought us some ranch and refills. Service wasn't bad at all for as busy, but more managers were watching the game than the customers (that ticked me off) my Philly cheesesteak was bland and unseasoned. There was no flavor what so ever, just chewy and digestible solids with cheese on it. The fries were pretty nasty, I couldn't finished them; they were soggy and limp. Nasty. I'm not gonna go back here again.

A little confused why the sandwiches and hot dogs don't come with a side of fries or chips, but we ordered a side of fries for extra and they were super addicting. Beer came in huge glasses which is great! Service was a little unfriendly but it was busy so she was probably just running around a lot. Food came quick even with a packed house. Music selection was awesome!! A good place to eat at when visiting Bowling Green!

It's a sport's bar - so kinda loud, kinda greasy, kinda fun. However, big caveat: avoid the appetizers. Their main courses (burgers, dogs, etc) were generous and reasonably price. but the apps are (a) over-priced and (b) ludicrously small. The "queso and chips" came with a cereal bowl of queso (maybe a cup) and 12, count em, 12 very salty nacho chips. We asked for more - which the server brought, actually joking about the small portion -- and we got about 10 more. AND THEY CHARGED $0.50 ON THE BILL FOR "EXTRA CHIPS." Seriously? are they getting the chips out of a vending machine? The fried pickle order, described as "a generous helping" was basically one large dill pickle's worth, sliced and fried. I think, in a bar setting, apps should be sized to share, and with the prices I assumed they would be. But - skip to the main courses and you'll have a better meal.

The proximity to my hotel played a big part in my decision to visit but I'm glad I did. Lightning fast service without annoying hovering as well as an exceptional draft beer selection made this a great dinner. There are TVs in every direction and the casual atmosphere is very welcoming. Jessa is a wonderful server. She's definitely a team player. I saw her working a mop well outside of her section before returning to check on her tables. Highly recommended.

This sports bar has an interesting theme going with the dogs on the menu and decor. More surprisingly, my nachos came out in a dog bowl, which proved their dedication to the theme. The nachos weren't spectacular but ok for bar food. They touted their "famous" cheese dip which was pretty much the same as the tub you heat up from the grocery store, and were also very proud of their lime sour cream. It just made it taste like the chips were the tostitos with hint of lime chips, which are admittedly tasty but nothing to get excited over. The bar was out of at least two of their listed beers, saying one was seasonal but we're well into a season and they haven't updated their beer list apparently. The bartender was friendly and was dealing well with some arrogant customers and still managed to be pleasant. When I walked in they added a chair to the bar for me which was nice as well. Outside there's a doghouse covered over with a rusted metal screen, which actually just looks ominous, like they trapped a dog or child in there, though likely it was done for the opposite reason.

Excellent burgers and a very decent beer selection. Fun atmosphere and excellent service. The Greek salad, although a little small was fresh with good ingredients.

Grabbed a quick tuna salad sandwich to go for lunch before heading to a client meeting. Although it looks pretty chain-y it's nice and casual inside. Seemed like a fun place where friends met for lunch while I waited. I asked them to go light on the mayo which they ACTUALLY DID! A true rarity in the restaurant world, as a tuna salad lover. And the French baguette was toasted and tasty. The fries on the side surprisingly not terribly unhealthy and pretty delicious. Would have given them a 5-star but I've gotta set the bar somewhere and this place is great for a restaurant on the side of the highway in Kentucky. Thanks!

I had the Jalapeno Cheese Sticks which were good when they came out but quickly congealed to a solid log that I thought about sending back for a refry. I reckon they are using processed cheese. The Buffalo burger was as expected, good. The service was very very good. I had a couple beers and was in for $33

I've been to Double Dogs several times now and all I can say is that it's ok and that's about it. The dog theme is different, and I favor patronizing restaurants that are not part of a huge national chain, but it's just not a place that wows me. One plus is that there is not a haze of smoke over the restaurant and bar like most places in Bowling Green (I really wish the city would just go ahead and go nonsmoking like the majority of decent sized cities in the country) which does make for a more pleasant experience when having to sit near the bar and eat. The atmosphere is a bit cold and dark, but there are plenty of televisions to watch a game, and the front porch area that opens up in nice weather is a very nice element. The staff is usually young attractive women who are relatively friendly, and I have had no issues with service at this restaurant. Prices are average for bar fare, and the food is lackluster and nothing impressive. Very much typical bar food with a limited menu. I usually go to meet friends for some food and a few drinks, and this is a good place for that. I've had the mushroom burger, buffalo chicken strips, and onion rings so far. The burger was large, as to be expected, and had plenty of mushrooms and cheese. They use a Dijon mustard sauce on their mushroom burger which is different and actually pretty tasty. The buffalo strips were crispy and pretty good overall. The onion rings are thick-cut and very good, and you get a HUGE portion so be prepared to split them. I don't care for the sauce that comes with them, and would prefer they serve a more common horseradish-type sauce, but ranch usually will do for me in a pinch. I don't know anyone who does care for their onion ring sauce out of my group, but I'm sure someone has to like it or they wouldn't serve it. Beer selection is just ok, and covers all of your basic national brands. Overall Double Dogs is a decent place to meet friends for a few drinks, take a team after a game, or otherwise go for some bar fare and a casual night out. The food is nothing spectacular, but it is decently done bar food and they do have good drink specials throughout the week.

Worst fries in the history of fries. I don't know what they do to make them so bad, it seems like they just sit around in lukewarm grease. And, this I really do not understand, they have a terrible beer selection! Just terrible! It's not that they don't have a decent number of beers, it's that they put beers that are not good on tap. They have a beer of the month, and it's always something like Miller Lite or Bud Light--why? That makes no sense. The dog theme is so cute and I do like the nachos, but other than that, everything I've had there was gross.

I love Double Dogs. My wife and 3 kids also love Double Dogs. It is one of the few places in town that we all can agree on. They have the best buffalo wings in town...no contest. Great sports bar atmosphere with lots of big screens. Menu has something for everyone. Never had a bad meal here. Always take out of town visitors here and they love it too. Not haute cuisine, but very good bar food. Do yourself a favor and try it ....especially if you like wings.
